The Apple Watch may have just changed the birth announcement game.
A couple used a unique feature on the Apple Watch to send their newborn baby's heartbeat to faraway loved ones last week.
The Apple Watch can record a heartbeat, then send it to other Apple Watch users. But instead of hearing the heartbeat, you can feel it as a pulsing tap on the wrist, as part of the device's "taptic" technology.
"Our first child was born and we used an Apple Watch Sport to send his heartbeat to our distant family members," wrote the user, who goes by the name AlphaGlitch. "It was a really awesome experience that we couldn't have done without the Apple Watch."
